Excel has always been a key tool for our managing team, and the 20+ years of business use and proficiency brought additional benefits to our collaboration with The University of British Columbia. When we were asked if we could develop a professional certificate for their UBCx program (in the edX.org platform), we jumped at the opportunity: what a great chance to mix the analytical expertise with the creative!
The Excel for Everyone Professional Certificate includes three individual courses:
- Core Foundations
- Data Management, and
- Data Analysis
Courses are self-paced and users can register for free or pay for the certification. Each course includes 35+ lectures (106 for the full certificate!), support materials and exercises, all written, developed, produced, and lectured by ExploraStudio’s CEO.
The learning design (the course framework that supports the learning experience in edX.org) was made in partnership with the excellent team at UBC’s External Learning.
Some interesting facts:
- In less than 18 months the courses reached over 500,000 registered users (and continue growing every day)
- Inc.com and ClassCentral.com (among many other sites and publications) named it the #1 most popular Excel course in 2021 (across all platforms), and #11 in the 25 most popular online courses in 2021 (across all topics and platforms)
- FreeCodeCamp.org named it the #1 most popular university online course in 2021 across all platforms
